This is what the Sunaimer engine looks like without a mounted solar panel.
Text updatea 2021.
1 year warranty. Supports panels up to 150 watts. Sunaimer has been on the market for more than 10 years. Lots of satisfied customers.
A solar panel must follow the sun in order to get the full effect from it. Sunaimer is a motorized tripod that does just that. You increase the effect on the solar panel by more than 1,5 - 2.5 times summertime. See the graphic below. The graphics show a Sunaimer mounted panel versus flat mounted panel on deck or tangaarc. A further argument for Sunaimer mounting on a boat is that it is mounted shadow-free from the mast and boom and that it takes some space from the boat. If the boat is on a sway at the buoy, you quickly reattach to horizontal installation.
The picture shows how a solar panel mounted on sunaimer starts charging at 6 a.m. and stops charging at 9 p.m. It has full charge between 8 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
A solar panel mounted on a boat deck charges substantially less, as it has a bad angle to the sun all day. In addition, such a panel encounters too much shadows from the mast and boom and more if it is not mounted on a tanga arc.
It can be expected that a solar panel mounted on sunaimer gives 2.5 times as much power as a lying panel. Depending on the season and how many % sun (clouds) there are during the day.
